We offer families the opportunity to prepare and submit obituary notices written in their own words. We believe this allows each tribute to authentically reflect the life and legacy of the individual. To honour each tribute, obituaries are published as approved by the family.

Judy was born on July 15, 1939, in Halifax, NS, to Gerald Bayers and Ellen Bayers (née Johnson). Over the years, she worked various jobs before and after raising her family.

In her spare time, Judy greatly enjoyed knitting, quilting, and reading. She also loved a good game of cards. She took great pride in being a grandmother and passed along her passions to each of them.

Judy will be sadly missed by her children, Gina (Gerald) Wallace of Beaverlodge, AB, Anita (John) Johnston of Ontario, Arthur Cameron of Brampton, ON, Ian (Margaret) Cameron of Ontario, and Shawn (Stella) Cameron of Grande Prairie, AB; her grandchildren, Robyn, Kaitlyn, Ross, Brennan, Landon, Keagan, and Zander; and her great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Ryleigh. She will also be lovingly missed by her sisters, Doris, Rae, Lynn, Ellen, and Lily; her brothers, Carl and Blair; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Cameron, as well as numerous family members and close friends.

As per the family’s wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place, and burial will be held in Nova Scotia at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Hattie Cemetery in Caledonia, Guysborough County, Nova Scotia (2525 Cameron Settlement Rd, Aspen, NS, B0H 1E0).

Thank you to the staff at Pearson Place in Hythe, AB.

The family would also like to extend special thanks and gratitude to Heather Wood, who was Judy’s companion for the last eight years while living in Alberta.
