Condolences to the family. Wilma Friesen taught many years with Mr. Quinn! She did not share his love as animals, as she would laugh and tell us she took a broom early in the morning with her to get her photocopying done in a room connected to the lab when "that bird"was allowed to roam free! Also, after escaping for a few months, Barney the Snake, came up through an under floor vent and greeted her one morning! She enjoyed working with him! Wilma Friesen Her three children were taught by Mr. Quinn. Sheena remembers helping build a brook of water in the Gym for the Grade 9 Graduation so all the grads and guests could walk over it. She also remembers the smell of the Science option class that required the cleaning of a squirrel head! We all remember interesting lessons, sporting events and Barney the Snake! Sheena Friesen Ness, Neil, and Marilyn Friesen Bozarth! Mr. Quinn also taught four of Wilma's grandchildren - Mitchell, Carina, Lincoln, and Mason, with all but one of the seven knowing this special teacher. Ken Ness has fond memories of a Grade 9 boys camping trip! Stories were shared within the family. We appreciate how he contributed to our education and great school memories! Thank you!

Sincere condolences to the family. Joe was one of the first teachers I had the pleasure of working with in the Home Schooling department when I started working for Peace Wapiti. Joe was very kind, fair and had a good sense of dry humour.

My condolences to the family of Joe Quinn. I only knew him as Mr. Quinn as a student at Harry Balfour school in the early 70's. He will be remembered as a favourite teacher who was kind, soft spoken and a friend to all. May he rest in peace.

So very sorry to hear of Mr. Quinns passing, he was one the most amazing teachers of all time. He taught all of my children when they were at Harry Balfour,he was so kind and compassionate. His science lab was something he took such pride in, which he then passed on to his students. I remember meeting him years later and asking about what was happening at the school and told me about starting a breakfast program at the school because he had noticed that many students came to school with no lunch, his words to me were " children can't learn if they are hungry."A very wonderful, kind man, that I'm sure all of his students will remember forever. My deepest smypathy to all of his family, Levola Sedore and family.

Very sorry for your loss. As a student at Harry Balfour School, I knew "Mr. Quinn" as unfailingly fair and kind, as a teacher who sought to pique the interest of students in the living world, and as a phys-ed instructor who endeavoured to pass along the basic skills of team sports.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Joe Quinn. Mr. Quinn was my first male teacher when I moved to Harry Balfour. During our trips to volleyball games, our track and field, and a memorable snowball on fight while waiting for our ride home after a volleyball tournament. Condolences to the family. Rest easy Sir!
