Obituary For Joseph Kato

It is with the greatest sadness, that the family of Joseph Kato, share his sudden passing in Grande Prairie, AB, on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the young age of 68 years.

Joseph was born in Uganda on January 1, 1953. Joseph was one of eight siblings, who from birth was filled with compassion, love, and kindness for his family and friends. He met what would turn out to be the love of his life and mother to all three of his children, Agnes Gibson at just 16 years old.

Joseph was a caring, and devoted father and husband, who dedicated every waking breathe to his family. He was a hard-working, and selfless man who could never stop doing for his family and others. A mechanic by trade in both automotive and aircraft, he worked his entire life sharing his gift of repair, and never-ending thirst for learning. He was both a master and a student, who always took the time to share his knowledge and experience, but was also always open to listening with a humble spirit.

Joseph will be sadly missed by his wife Agnes and his children: Julian, Raymond, Fiona, and dog Maya.

Because We Love You So Time will not dim the face we love, The voice we often heard on many special days, The many things you did for us, In your own very special ways. All our life we’ll miss you, As the years come and go, But in our heart, we’ll keep you, Because we love you so. ~Anonymous

I just found out yesterday that I will not happily run into Joe while out and about A year after the fact I will preface this tribute by saying I had the pleasure of working with Joe at Toyota A purely wonderful man who had me wrapped round his little finger with his incredible and yes ! ...true stories I could always count on Joe if I wanted a light hearted conversation or a more philosophical one about what was going on in the world He had this little scope that when I looked in the eyepiece, there was a photo of a very young Joe leaning over a vehicle ready to get it running again Joe always spoke of his family. Always. I met Agnes years later and would delight in information she would share about how Joe was and what he was up to. His laugh. Many people have commented on it. I believe it reached all the way to the stars and beyond It feels like a very different world today now that I know Joe isn't in it I considered Joe a friend and am so glad he was in my little corner of the world Darla Dawn

I met Joseph in Barbados at our relatives' wedding. We were introduced and by his second sentence, I felt I had known this man all my life. Unbelievable! He was a gem. His life attests to that. Ah, death where is thy sting? 'It is better to have loved and lost than not to have loved at all.' He lives on in the hearts of those who love him. Rest in perfect peace sweet man. Marie

Elizabeth and I (Stephen) used to live in the same apartment building in Montreal with Joe and Agnes. Joe was a loving and peaceful man I ever knew, kind and caring, both Joe and Agnes supported us with our first baby at the time. We are sad that we didn't have the opportunity to connect before this sudden departure. May God console and comfort Agness and the family. May Joe's soul rest in a perfect peace.

Jo, i somehow cannot seem to comprehend that you are gone. A dear friend to our family, who in turn became our family. Grocery shopping will never be the same as that is where we had our weekly chats and caught up on family news. You were truly a gentleman with big heart and a soul that shined so bright. We will miss you dearly my friend. May the Lord wrap his arms around your family at this sad time and comfort them. Ramsay, Tracelle and Family
