John McAvany, born July 22, 1927 in Neilburg, SK, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015 in Spirit River, AB, at the age of 87 years.

Ed will be lovingly remembered by his partner of nine years Alice; his children: Lyle (Tara), Les (Susan), Lorne (Lynn), Lynn (Jodi) and Lois; his step-children: Jim (Terry), Randy (Arlene) and Michael (Lisa); his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as his 6 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren; sisters Rose and Pat (John); brother Keith (Donna), sister in-law Jeanette and one brother in-law; also by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ed was predeceased by his parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 2 brothers in-law and 1 sister in-law.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
