We offer families the opportunity to prepare and submit obituary notices written in their own words. We believe this allows each tribute to authentically reflect the life and legacy of the individual. To honour each tribute, obituaries are published as approved by the family.

Obituary For Jocelyn Gaye Pugh-Runzer

Feb 8, 1963 (Edmonton)

July 23, 2026 (Grande Prairie)

Mom, wife (best friend), friend to many, teacher, quilter, cat lover extraordinaire.

Jocelyn loved her family dearly:

*Daughter Celyne Runzer (Amanda White)

*Son Haydyn Runzer (Brina Wengberg)

Jocelyn was predeceased by sons Austyn and Sam.

Jocelyn and Troy were together for over 42 years (married for 41). She made it her mission to give her children the safe and loving home life that she herself never had.

Jocelyn was an incredibly resilient person who persevered through many serious health issues. Through it all she resolved to live her life and do all of the things that she loved.

*She never met a cat who she didn’t fall instantly in love with.

*She was very proud of becoming a teacher late in life. She loved her students, and she celebrated their successes (academically or personally).

*Jocelyn was a passionate participant in life. She loved travel, gardening, quilting, Sudoku, puzzles, games, and “Jeopardy.”

*She was one of the kindest, gentlest people you could imagine. Her smile and laughter (snort included) would light up a room.

Jocelyn will be dearly missed— “Death ends a life, not a relationship” (Morrie Schwartz).

A memorial will be planned for early October, 2026.

Memorial donations may be made to a local humane society of choice.
