Obituary For Janet Norma Pealo

All of heaven preparing for the homecoming of Janet Norma Pealo on Thursday, October 20, 2022, as she closed her eyes peacefully surrounded by family and friends in her room at Prairie Lakes Hospice.

Janet was predeceased by her loving mother and father Alfreda and Thomas Penney, and her brother Derek Penney.

Janet leaves behind her devoted and loving husband Tom Pealo; son Jonathan (Lori) Pealo; sister Sharon (Tom) Penney; brother George (Geraldine) Penney; grandchildren Kruise, Ripp and Magni; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, her great-great niece and a huge circle of extended family and friends.

Janet loved life, loved family, and made each holiday a time of laughter and dancing. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas – her favorite Christmas movie was It’s a Wonderful Life, and her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family and friends. She loved going fishing with the love of her life, Tom. Her best thing to do was play the slot machines with her bestie, Leona, hanging out at the acreage around the campfire with family and friends. Her grand babies were the brightest part of her day.

Our family would like to acknowledge and thank the amazing staff at Prairie Lakes Hospice. They made the last few months of Janet’s life easier for her. Took such great care of her needs and became family to her. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for the compassion and kindness you have shown.

Janet will be sadly missed and forever loved.

A Celebration of Janet’s Life will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 – 107 Ave.).

A Livestream of the service will be accessible 15 minutes prior to the service on Janet’s obituary on Oliver’s Funeral Home website

Flowers are gratefully declined. For those who wish, memorial donations to Sorrentino’s Compassion House (10909 76 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6G 0J6) or to the Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society (Suite #204, 10134-97 Ave. Grande Prairie, AB T8V 7X6).

Our sincere sympathies, Tom and family. We had planned to attend Janet's service but unfortunately, circumstances out of our control have made this impossible. Janet was an amazing woman and we know many, many people will miss her, including us. Sincerely, Ray and Wendy Kosolofski

I don't know that words can truly describe Janet. I first met her at the Cross cancer Institute. We talked about our cancers for about 5 mins before heading out to the big city. We had no time for talking when the big city was waiting. Tom was our chauffeur and off we went. Janet taught me a lot about life. I enjoyed every minute I spent with her. Cancer wasn't gonna hold us down. We did treatment during the weekdays, then we would patch each other up and head out to the city. (Poor Janet, I think my driving scared her a little but it didn't stop us. We were determined to have as much fun as legally possible. Many people come in and out of our lives but Janet was different. She had a heart of gold and the strength of a lion. I will always miss her beautiful spirit. Until we meet again 🌹😘
