Obituary For Janet Mae Bjornson

An angel has ascended to Heaven and will forever shine over her family and friends in the nightly sky. Janet Mae Bjornson, resident of Hines Creek, AB, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on Saturday, May 28, 2022, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 45 years.

Janet was born May 10, 1977, in Fairview, AB. She graduated from Fairview High School in 1995, and married the love of her life Brian Bjornson in 1999. They had three children: Austin, Kayla, and Logan. Janet was a devoted mother and enjoyed driving her children to hockey and school sports. She volunteered as a coach for her kid’s volleyball and hockey teams. Janet was an amazing softball player and loved quadding, camping, and outdoor activities with her family. Most of all, Janet loved cheering her children on in sporting events.

Janet is survived and remembered by her husband Brian; children: Austin, Kayla, and Logan; her mother Carol Kuriga (John); as well as her brother Darcy Kuriga (Tamara). Janet also leaves to mourn many precious family members, and friends that became family to her over the years.

Janet joins her father John Kuriga; her grandparents Chester and Shirley Banner, and Sam and Anna Kuriga; along with her brother in-law Adam Bjornson who will all watch over us from above.

We will all miss Janet deeply and will forever cherish all of our memories of her.

A Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 2:00pm, at Dave Shaw Memorial Complex in Hines Creek.
