Obituary For James (Jim) Dirom
Jim (James) Dirom passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 surrounded by his loving wife, Gay, children Phyllis and Randy, and all five of his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife Gay Dirom (née Knecht); children Phyllis and Randy Dirom; grandchildren: Jesse Dirom, Garett Richardson, Kristin Dirom, Leah Bildson (née Richardson), and Traci Dirom; and great-grandsons Ashton, Rylen and Oliver.
Jim was born in Grande Prairie, AB on May 2, 1935. He loved farming, gardening, golfing, family and having the odd night out. Jim’s love of the land was well known and he spent most of his life on the farm. Jim was a larger than life figure to his family and spent his later years teaching his grandkids (all of whom affectionately referred to him as JD), the value of a job well done, hard work and perseverance.
A Graveside Memorial will be held on May 2, 2017 for his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army (9618-101A Ave. NW, Edmonton, AB, T5H 0C7).

Randy and family, So sorry to hear about Jim's passing. I always had good conversations with him out at the golf course. He was always kind to me when I was President of GPGCC but never had an issue telling me what needed to be done. I enjoyed his dry wit and straightforward nature. He will be missed and remembered by the members of the golf course. We will lower the flags in his honor and memory. All the best. Jason
