Obituary For James "Jamie" Arnold

With great sadness, the family announces the unexpected passing of James “Jamie” Arnold, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the age of 61 years.

Jamie was born in Brantford, Ontario, on February 20, 1964. He grew up in Ontario until the family moved to Drayton Valley, AB in 1980. This was where he was first introduced to the patch. Starting as a rig hand and moving his way up to sales.

Some would say his greatest accomplishment in life was his five children and two grandsons.

Although he is no longer with us, his presence continues to echo in the stories we share and the love he left behind. He lived life to the fullest, was very dedicated and loyal in every aspect of his life. Jamie had many passions, which included golfing, hockey, and fishing; but most importantly, his family. He loved spending quality time with his loved ones, creating memories and laughter that his family will cherish forever.

He will be sadly missed by his beloved children: Amanda (Bodee), Travis (Kelsee), Ryan (Amanda), Misty (Troy), and Jesse. Adored grandchildren Kayden and Karson. Loving brothers: Dan (Priscilla), Jeff “Bomber” (Susan), and John, as well as many nieces and nephews and good friends.

Jamie was predeceased by his parents, Barbara and William “Bill” Arnold, and sister Ellen Verheul.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Five Mile Hall, with a Celebration of Life to follow. Food and beverages will be provided.

A Livestream link will be available 5 minutes prior to the service through Oliver’s Funeral Home Facebook live.
