Obituary For James "Jamie" Arnold

With great sadness, the family announces the unexpected passing of James “Jamie” Arnold, resident of Grande Prairie, on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the age of 61 years.

Jamie was born in Brantford, Ontario on February 20, 1964. He grew up in Ontario until the family moved to Drayton Valley, AB in 1980. This was where he was first introduced to the patch. Staring as a rig hand and moving his way up to sales.

Some would say his greatest accomplishment in life was his five children and two grandsons.

Although he is no longer with us, his presence continues to echo in the stories we share and the love he left behind. He lived life to the fullest, very dedicated and loyal in every aspect of his life. Jamie had many passions which included golfing, hockey and fishing, but most importantly his family. He loved spending quality time with his loved ones creating memories and laughter that his family will cherish forever.

He will be sadly missed by his beloved children: Amanda (Bodee), Travis (Kelsee), Ryan (Amanda), Misty (Troy) and Jesse. Adored grandchildren Kayden and Karson. Loving brothers: Dan (Priscilla), Jeff “Bomber” (Susan) and John, as well as many nieces and nephews and good friends.

Jamie is predeceased by his parents Barbara and William “Bill” Arnold and sister Ellen Verheul.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2:00 pm at 5-mile hall, with Celebration of Life to follow, food and beverage will be provided.

A Livestream link will be available 5 minutes prior to the service through Oliver’s Funeral Home Facebook live.

Memorial Donations in Jamie's honour may be made to Grande Prairie Minor Hockey Association – gphockey.com
