Obituary For James Allan Birnie-Browne

James “Jim” Allan Birnie-Browne, resident of Bezanson, AB, passed away on Friday, April 26,2024 at the Grande Prairie Care Center, at the age of 76 years.

Jim was born on October 18, 1947 in Grande Prairie, AB to parents Jack and Aileen Birnie-Browne and grew up in Clarkson Valley, AB. He attended school in Ridge Valley AB, until he started working in construction.

While he was working in Widewater, AB for his brother-in-law Jerry, he met and married Gloria in 1967. He was given the opportunity by Luke Malic to begin his career in the construction business. He continued in the construction business, which he continued to do until he started working for Suncor Energy as an Oilfield Consultant. After Suncor, he worked at Hanson Ford until 2017 when his health started to decline.

Jim was a hard worker and was always there to lend a helping hand. He loved to tinker, collect things and enjoyed having family gatherings, especially BBQs. He loved his family, animals and taking his grandsons on tractor rides.

He is survived by his wife Gloria; daughter Lisa (Chris) Crowle; grandsons Daxton and Chase; siblings: Donald (Margaret), Marjorie and Elaine; sister-in-law Edna Birnie-Browne, his brother and sisters-in-law Al (Janice), Len (Eileen) and Christine (Lyle), Penny, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends considered to be family.

He was predeceased by his son Cory, parents Rushton John “Jack” and Aileen Birnie-Browne; siblings Francis (Norman) Berg, Anne (Ellsworth) Kimble, Walter (Buddy), Eddy and Gerry (Marlene), brother-in-law Jerry Moody, in-laws Alex and Sennie Fedorus; brother and sisters-in law Albert (Jeanette), Robert, John (Theresa); and some nieces and nephews.

Cremation will take place and ashes will be laid to rest in Debolt Cemetery in a private family ceremony.
