Obituary For Irvine Lloyd Allen
Irvine Lloyd Allen, resident of Rycroft, AB, formerly of Worsley, AB, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in Spirit River, AB, at the age of 89 years.
Irvine was born at his family home on September 5, 1933, in Bateman, SK. He was the only son of Elmer “Bus” and Catherine Allen. He had one older sister Edna and two younger sisters Norma and Linda. The family moved to Hines Creek, AB, when he was 8 years old. Irvine married Violet Schwerdt in 1958 and moved to Worsley, AB. They were married for 64 years.
Irvine never met anyone he couldn’t talk to, and he made friends wherever he went. Irvine loved to drive and see the country. He read everyday and was so proud of his restored Minneapolis – Moline.
Irvine will be sadly missed by his wife Violet; children: Theresa (Elmer), Barb (Bill), Murray, Doug, and Scott (Dawn); grandchildren: Mark, Spencer, Cathy, Cindy, Brandy, Wes, Justin, Brett, Britney, Michael, Axel, Brandon, and Dennis; as well as great-grandchildren: Atticus, Orion, Tylynn, Zack, Anna, Aimery, Rhett, Tristan, Hayden, Jason, Avery, and Dominic. Irvin had a very large extended family, too numerous to list. He was very close with his nieces and nephew: Connie, Stacey, and Corey.
Irvine was predeceased by his parents Elmer and Catherine; sisters: Edna, Norma, and Linda; nieces Pam and Susan Buss; nephew Bill Fisher; sister in-law Annie Fisher and husband Bob; as well as brothers in-law: Winston Schwerdt, Ernie Schwerdt, Victor Schwerdt, and Bob Schwerdt.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 1:00pm, at the Worsley School.
A private family interment took place.
Memorial Donations may be made in honor of his niece Susan to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada AB and NWT Division (150, 9405 50 St, Edmonton, AB, T6B 2T4), or in support of his granddaughter Tylynn to the Stollery Children’s Hospital (8440 112 St, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2B7).

So very sorry Vi to hear of Irvine's passing. We had so many great conversations at the museum in Worsley. He really was the glue that held that place together. He will be so missed.
