Obituary For Inge Asta Nett

Inge Asta Nett, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Wanham, AB, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Prairie Lake Hospice, at the age of 79 years.

Inge was born on April 18, 1943, in Odense, Denmark. She immigrated with her family to Canada when she was 8 years old to the Beloy, AB, area. Inge obtained her degree in Business. She went on to marry Austin Nett on June 30, 1973, and had three children: Patrick, Cory, and Shane. She worked for AGT/Telus for a total of 22 ½ years, retiring in 1999.

Inge was old fashioned when it came to certain things, but her humor could not be hidden when her sons would start telling terrible jokes.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzles, going for coffee with family at the mall, and going to bingo with her mom.

Inge will be sadly missed by her sons Patrick (Janet) Nett and Shane (Shawna) Nett; grandchildren: Stetson, Cory, Haylee, and Alex; sister Ellinor (Dean) Barley; niece Kirsten (Kurtis) Wilson; nephew Jason (Karen) Barley; great-niece Kayla; great-nephews Koda and Konner; along with all other family and friends who loved her.

She was predeceased by her husband Austin; son Cory; as well as her father Svend and mother Solveig.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 11:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). Interment to follow at the Grande Prairie Cemetery (84th Ave and 112th St.).

Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society AB/NWT Division (200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5), or to Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society (#204, 10134 97 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 7X6).

I was a childhood friend of Inge, first meeting her when she came to Wanham school still struggling with the English language. We became fast friends and although life took us on different paths we kept in touch & I will miss our long chats! Love & hugs to all her family. God Bless, Laverne Sather

Sending Patrick & Shane & their families my deepest condolences. I knew Inge from Wanham when I was just a child & always remember the family who worn wooden shoes & had thick accents & then I worked with Inge at AGT & she was lots of fun & always had a ready laugh, very wonderful lady. May you find comfort in the arms of Jesus.
