Obituary For Hubert Arthur Gray

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hubert Arthur Gray on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 92 years.

Hubert was born on August 23, 1932, in Smiths Falls, ON, to Betty and Herbert Gray, the oldest of five siblings. He attained a grade eight education before moving west to Alberta. He was employed with Shell Canada for 31 years and spent an additional nine years as a corrosion technician for Suncor. On June 23, 1962, Hubert and Sara (Laslo) were married. They enjoyed 63 wonderful years together.

Hubert loved to help. If there ever was a need for a peacemaker, he was there. He was gentle, soft-spoken, and had such a beautiful spirit. Gardening was his passion, and he grew the finest tomatoes you ever tasted. That being said, Hubert's greatest joy was found in his faith. Hubert chose to serve God as a teen and remained true to that vow all his life. It was evident to all who knew him that he loved and lived what he believed.

Hubert will be dearly missed by his wife, Sara; children Steven (Elena) and Lorel (Brent); grandchildren Stephanie (Tyler), Jesse, Justin (Naomi), and Jayson; and great-grandchildren Benjimen and Ellie.

He was predeceased by his siblings, parents, and grandson Matthew.

A memorial service to honour Hubert will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 107 Ave.) in Grande Prairie, AB. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon in Oliver’s Tea Room. Following the luncheon, there will be a private interment for the family.

A life well lived, a heart deeply loved.
