It is with great sadness that the family of Hilda Kathleen Dika announce her passing on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at the Central Peace Hospital in Spirit River, AB, at the age of 90 years.

Hilda was born in Beausejour, MB, to Emilie and Wilhelm Dreger and was a resident of Rycroft, AB. Hilda, along with her siblings, grew up in the Woking area where she attended the Saddle Mountain School. She married Jerry Dika at 23 years old on April 20, 1951. They settled on the Dika Homestead just south of Rycroft where they built a wonderful life together with their children.

Her reflections on her life were ones of love and gratitude and of having a wonderful life with an amazing husband and five children, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She loved having her family around her.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Darlene (Greg) Wallace, Caroline Dika, Wendy (Rick) Kozuback, Jerrlee (Richard) Szabo, and daughter in-law Lisi Dika; 12 grandchildren: Richard (Michelle) Wallace, Renee (Vaughn) Veillet, Jerry (Zuzka) Wallace, Aaron (Antionette) Durda, Melanie (Cam) Dickson, Mark (Dana) Kozuback, Tara Kozuback, Cole Dika, Kaz (Nathalie) Dika, Kris (Jocelyn) Dika, Levi Hack and Ryker Hack; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Hattie Close, Esther Vandergaag, and Adoline (Pat) Glenn; brothers Lloyd Dreger and Arron (Olga) Dreger; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Hilda was predeceased by her husband Jerry Felix Dika, son Calvin Bryant Dika, parents Emilie and Wilhelm Dreger, and brother Gus Dreger.

A Funeral Service in memory of Hilda will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018, at 11:00am at Rycroft Community Hall in Rycroft, AB (5208 47 Ave.) with Pastor Rod Masterson officiating. Luncheon to follow.

We are so sorry to learn of Auntie Hilda's passing. She was like the "glue" that kept all of Mary Dika Susak's family connected to the Canadian relatives. We have so many wonderful memories and she will be greatly missed by us all.

Thinking of you and your family @ this time.

John and I would like to express our sympathy to all the family in the loss of their mother and to all the extended family ... Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. A wonderful lady and she will be sadly missed by family and many friends. Not that long ago, I (Lenore) had the pleasure of a nice visit with Hilda when she was still in her home in Rycroft. We had a wonderful conversation. Again, our condolences and may she rest in peace.
