Obituary For Helena Freake nee Kuiper
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Helen Freake, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.
Helen passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the young age of 58.
She was dearly loved and will be missed and forever remembered by her daughter Pamela (Jesse) and son Andrew (Jessica).
She was predeceased by her daughter Kelsy (21) in 2012. She never recovered from this tragic loss.
Helen loved her granddaughter Ryley and spoke of her often with love and pride.
Beloved daughter of the late Marie (Jacob) DeWal of Beachburg, Ontario and Bé (the late Jannie) Kuiper of Groningen, Holland.
Dearly loved sister of Wilma Kuiper of Ottawa, Ontario, her biggest supporter, who will miss their daily chats enormously. Loved and remembered by her brothers Edwin DeWal and David (Valerie) DeWal.
Helen was so happy to have made contact with Michael over the past few months.
Helen was born in Groningen, Holland on December 29, 1958. Helen came to Canada with her mother and sister in 1972. She loved to laugh, joke and socialize. She faced many challenges the last number of years and her family would like to thank all the people and organizations who helped Helen along the way. Special mention and thank you to Curtis Crough, Sheena Mercer and Heather Royle.
Helen - your earthly struggles are over. You have finally found the peace you were so searching for in life. We take comfort in knowing that you and Kelsy are hand-in-hand and we can feel the smile of happiness radiating down on us.
Rust Zacht - Rest in Peace. Until we meet again.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to The Oasis Group of Ministries (10126 101 Ave., Grande Prairie, T8V 0Y2).
