Helen Marie Buck, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Prairie Lake Hospice at the age of 67 years.

Helen was a rare spirit, known by all for her heart of gold and non-judgmental nature that made everyone feel safe. She was an incredibly generous soul who found her greatest joy in giving, especially to her family, whom she loved with fierce and boundless devotion. A comforting presence and always positive, she was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren, who were the absolute light of her life and the pride of her heart. Some of her family’s most cherished memories are found in the simple joys she shared with them: baking cookies, messing around in the garden, endless days of crafting together, as well as the excitement of the treasure hunt she and Dad so lovingly organized. Her playful spirit truly shone in her special deliveries of chicks to the farm, creating magical moments where her grandkids could play and experience the same wonder for life that she carried every day.

Helen is survived by her husband, Ron; her children, Eileen and Mindy; and her beautiful grandsons, Jacob, Logan, Emmett, and Brody.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Phillip, Ida, and Billy, and her parents, Leo and Marie Fournier.

Prayers and viewing will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave). The funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church (10404 102 St), followed by a luncheon in Tranquille Hall at the church.

Helen, a wife, mother, Nana, and friend will be missed beyond words and will remain forever in our hearts.
