Obituary For Grethe Wedel Jorgensen
On August 7, 2025, Grethe Wedel Jorgensen entered into eternal rest at the age of 98 years.
Grethe was born on May 8, 1927, in Ejby, Denmark.
She is survived by those who knew and loved Grethe: her children, Peter (Margret) Jorgensen, Hans Jorgensen, and Grete (Tex) Fimrite; grandchildren Michelle (Bradley Alexander) Nicolaisen, Niels (Mille Nielsen) Jorgensen, Elisabeth Laerke Jorgensen, Melissa (Sheldon Paltry) Nicolaisen, and Mark (Shanna Mierzewski) Nicolaisen; seven great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Grethe was predeceased by her soulmate, Hans; son Einer Jorgensen; brothers Sven and Paul; and her parents, Peter and Clara Andersen.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Grethe’s life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cotillion Hall (Range Rd 121, Bear Canyon, AB T0H 1C0). Please join us as we share memories and food.
