Obituary For Glennie Kyle (née: Alexander)

The world just got a little quieter, and heaven a whole lot livelier, because Glennie has officially arrived. We can picture her now: nails perfect, lipstick on, and that confident smile saying, “Well, I'm here; now the fun can start." And, of course, that unmistakable scent of White Diamonds lingering wherever she went.

It is with deep sadness that the family of Glennie Kyle announces her passing on October 28, 2025, in Grande Prairie, Alberta, at the age of 72, after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Born in Edmonton on May 28, 1953, Glennie moved to Grande Prairie as a young girl, where she grew up, went to school, and began building the lifelong friendships she treasured so deeply. She later moved to Kelowna, where she spent many happy years and formed bonds that became family. Glennie and Dallas eventually made their way back to Alberta and settled in DeBolt, spending many winters in Phoenix and Yuma, Arizona, places that brought sunshine, laughter, and a circle of lasting friends.

A true people person, Glennie loved to be wherever the laughter was loudest and the company was warmest. Always up for a good time, she had a natural gift for bringing people together and making every gathering sparkle with joy, stories, and love.

Glennie spent much of her career as a Medical Office Assistant, where her compassion, organization, and warmth touched countless lives. She loved golf, curling, and canasta, and her "bossy in a good way" personality ensured everything and everyone was just right.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 30 years, Dallas Kyle; her daughters Tara Sutley (Ty Hill) and Ronni McIvor (Chris); and her stepdaughters Loanne Walker (Shea) and Sherri Kyle. Glennie was a proud grandmother to Mikayla Tangen (Zach), Reed Sutley, Paige McIvor, Riley McIvor, Peyton Walker Livingston (Dayln), and Nyah Walker, and a delighted great-grandmother to River Tangen.

She also leaves behind her siblings—sisters Jamie Menzies (Grant) and Dani Sheehan (Pat), and brothers Ian Alexander (Colleen) and Hugh Alexander (Heather), along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. She will also be fondly remembered by Dallas' siblings, Marie Martin (Ed), Cheryl Schneider (Ken), Norma Dombrova (Merv), Blaine (Pimm), Candice Eggers, and Dwayne (Linda), and her lifelong friend, Fay Freisz.

Glennie was predeceased by her parents, Don and Rita Alexander; son-in-law Greg Sutley; her in-laws, Norm and Verna Kyle; brothers-in-law Gary Kyle and Melvin Eggers; and sister-in-law Joan Kyle.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Perkins Recreation Center in DeBolt, Alberta, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association (https://ablung.ca/) in Glennie's memory.

Forever remembered for her laughter, warmth, and impeccable style, Glennie's light will continue to shine in every story and smile she leaves behind.

Words from Glennie: “Never leave the house looking like you feel.”

Sending love to Glennie's family on behalf of Claudia, Burk & the four Strehlke girls. Glennie worked with my mom and kept things running in her busy office at 214 Place. She never minded when we were there and always put through our calls to mom - even when inconvenient. She was kind, caring and full of positive energy. I loved reading her obituary and her words of wisdom at the end. She definitely walked the talk! Tina Strehlke

Offering our deepest condolences to all of Glennie's family at this sad time! She was a light & an anchor for us in our early years in GP as Rob's MOA. She helped both of us professionally & personally as she assisted me in surprising Rob with an anniversary getaway & him with a surprise birthday party. She knew how to get things done, have fun, love & laugh & always look great doing it! We remember her with great fondness & wish you all peace & comfort. Rob & Jean Burris
