Obituary For Glenn Arthur Wallan

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, grandfather, and Big Papa (great-grandfather) Glenn Arthur Wallan, in the early hours of Monday, March 7, 2022, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, at the age of 79 years.

Glenn was the quintessential Albertan: big, bold, brassy, risk taker, full of life, with a “never say no” attitude. While he was the ultimate entrepreneur, his greatest accomplishment by his own admission was his family and extended family.

Glenn leaves to mourn his passing: daughter Leanne (Brad) Beaupre; son Simon (Jackie) Wallan; daughter Monica (Jim) Dunn; grandchildren: Morgan (Terri) Beaupre, Tyson Beaupre, Travis (Melissa) Wallan, Jordan (Colin) Stogryn, Alexandra Dunn (Taylor Foreman), Sydney (Chris) Monfette, and Nicole Dunn (Daylan Morgan); as well as great-grandchildren: Hendrix and Monroe Beaupre, Jack Wallan, and Murphy Monfette.

Glenn was predeceased by his wife and life partner of 40 years Joanne (nee Bacso); grandson Carson Beaupre; parents Adolph and Mary Wallan; Joanne’s parents Jim and Margaret Bacso; as well as sisters Viola (Allan Atkinson) and Doreen Murphy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at the Tara Centre at Evergreen Park. Time of fellowship to follow.

For friends wishing to make memorial donations the family asks that you consider The Beaverlodge Cemetery Perpetual Fund (Box 2158 Beaverlodge, AB, T0HC0 or direct deposit /etransfer to blcemetery21@gmail.com), or Gimle Cemetery Fund (C/O Mervin and Ivan Heggland, Box 667 Beaverlodge AB, T0H0C0), or charity of one’s choice.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Oliver’s Funeral Home.

We are so sorry for your loss Leanne, Simon and Monica and all of your extended family . Your dad is a wonderful part of nearly every childhood memory I have. His stories will live on and on. He had been such a dear friend to my parents and I can't imagine how hard it will be for my dad to not have that long phone call once a month. Getting filled in on all the details of all of the grandkids and great grandkids. He was so proud of each one of you. I know he will be missed. I wish I could have been with you all today. Love xoxo. Marcia, Chuck and family. .
