Obituary For Gilbert Carnie
Gilbert Edward Charles Carnie, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 72 years.
He was born on August 27, 1943 in Newhaven, East Sussex, England and he came to Canada as a young child.
He has worked in the grocery industry for Sobeys and IGA for many years.
He is survived by his wife Alysia, 3 daughters, sister Marie, brother Don, 5 step-children, 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and will be sadly missed by all.
An open house Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 1pm – 4pm at Gil’s residence in Grande Prairie (106 9120, 96 Ave.).
Floral tributes for the family may be sent to Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 107 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 1L8), or memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke of Alberta (Unit 109, 10126, 120 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 8H9).
