Obituary For Gary Maurice Hogg

Gary Hogg, a resident of the Beaverlodge area, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the age of 86 years.

Gary was born on December 5, 1937. He spent his younger years cowboying with his brother Harvey, working for the Army in Whitehorse and earning his gasfitters license.

In 1967, Gary married Ethel Blom and they raised their family in the Beaverlodge area and enjoyed farm life.

During his retirement years, Gary enjoyed showing/giving hayrides with his Fjord team, team roping and visiting friends and family.

His lifelong love of family, friends and horses continued to his last day.

Gary will be sadly missed by his children: Karen (Ross), Alan (Kait) and Sandra; granddaughter Arnica; and siblings Helen and Maureen (Ernie).

He was predeceased by his wife Ethel; parents Jim and Nora; as well as siblings: Bob (Vera), Harvey and Virginia.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, at 2:00 pm at the Hythe Legion (9818 100 Ave).

Interment will take place at Lake Saskatoon Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to STARS (stars.ca), the Salvation Army (9615 102 St. Grande Prairie) or the Beaverlodge Food Bank (400 10 St. Beaverlodge).

    Gary and Ethel were wonderful neighbours to my parents, Lorne and Mona Middleton, for many years. Gary was always there to lend a hand when needed. My sincerest sympathies go out to Karen, Alan and Sandra. May your dear dad rest in peace.
