Obituary For Ernie Braumberger

Ernest Christian Braumberger, longtime resident of the Sexsmith area passed away peacefully at Mackenzie Place on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at the age of 75 years. Ernie was born in Sexsmith, AB on May 30, 1939 and was raised in the Bad Heart area. His family moved to north of Sexsmith when he was five years of age. He married Louise Eggers on July 31, 1964. Their son Devin was born on December 12, 1965 and daughter Tracy was born on June 9, 1969. In 1971, the family moved to their home quarter, north of Sexsmith, they farmed there until 2005. They sold their cattle and Ernie retired. They sold their farm in the fall of 2014 and moved to Grande Prairie. Ernie enjoyed music and especially loved playing his fiddle and going to music festivals. He also enjoyed cattle farming, running his sawmill, camping, playing crib, and visiting with his family and friends. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife Louise; son Devin (April) of Sherwood Park, granddaughter Samantha (Justin), great-grandsons Hayden, Logan and Christopher, granddaughter Derryl-lynn; daughter Tracy (Evan) Fredland of Grande Prairie, grandchildren Daylen and Jenna. He also leaves to mourn his mother Alice, siblings: Rose (Bill), Ray (Marion), Larry, Dale, Danny, Shirley, Dennis (Correen), and Ronnie (AnnaBelle); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by Louise’s family. He was predeceased by his dad Bruno Braumberger, brother Gary, brother and sister in-law George and Doreen Parker, brother in-law Chuck Milinkovic, brother in-law Melvin Eggers, and sister in-law Angelina Braumberger. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2:00pm at Oliver’s Funeral Chapel in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). Memorial donations may be made to QEII Hospital Foundation - Mackenzie Place (10409 98 St. Grande Prairie, AB T8V 2E8), or to Heart & Stroke of Alberta (Unit 109 10126 120 Ave. Grande Prairie, AB T8V 8H9).
