With heavy hearts, we share that Erna Maria Jandrisovics, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025 at the age of 89 years.

Erna was born on January 5, 1936, in Deutsch Ehrensdorf, Burgenland, Austria. In the summer of 1961, she bravely left her homeland and began a new life in Canada. She made Grande Prairie, AB, her home for most of her years, later moving to Calgary, AB, to be closer to her sons.

She married Joseph Jandrisovics, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Alongside their two sons and their loyal dog Snoopy, they spent many happy days exploring the lakes and dunes around Grande Prairie, making memories that will last a lifetime.

Erna was a devoted mother, a proud Oma, and a loyal friend. She had a special gift for nurturing, whether it was her garden full of thriving plants, the animals she adored, or the people she loved most. Her home was always open, her kitchen always warm, and her table always full. If you stopped by for “just a minute,” you could count on being offered food, a drink, and a good conversation that made it hard to leave.

Those who knew Erna will remember her for her quick wit, her honest and spirited nature, and her boundless heart. She brought warmth and laughter wherever she went and left a lasting imprint on everyone lucky enough to know her.

Erna will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Ernest Jandrisovics and Erwin Jands; her granddaughters Jordana Lloyd (Dean) and Kenzie Harke (Evan); as well as her great-grandchildren Andi, Beck, and Miller.

She is now reunited with her beloved husband Joseph, who passed away on January 1, 1997.

Erna’s life was a testament to love, strength and the simple joys of family. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A viewing will be held at Oliver's Funeral Home (10005 107th Ave) on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 am and a graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, at the Grande Prairie Cemetery (84th Ave and 112th St). There will be cake to follow at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 107th Ave).
