Obituary For Eric William Roach
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Eric Roach, longtime resident of La Glace, AB. Eric passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, far too soon at the age of 59 years.
Eric was born in Alexandria, ON, and lived in this general area until he moved out west with his family to Grande Prairie when he was 13 years old.
Eric graduated from the Grande Prairie Composite High School. He had various jobs; however, he loved working with heavy equipment since his early 20s. He enjoyed it so much that he founded and operated his own heavy equipment business, Roach Contracting. He proudly ran the business until his passing, and it was where he formed lifelong friendships.
Eric had a love for sports, with hockey being his passion. He was an incredible husband, devoted dad, uncle, and friend, whose loyalty, sense of humour, and quick wit brought a lot of laughter to those around him. Though his time with us was far too short, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He will be sadly missed by his spouse, Brenda, son Connor, mother-in-law Barbara Moe, sister-in-law Kathy (Jack) Patterson, Layton’s son, Rhett Patterson, niece Katie (Ty) White, great-niece Lydia, great-nephew Tate, sister-in-law Lori (Derek) Riddle, niece Karly (Brady), nephew Tyler, mom Shirley Roach (Ron), brother James (Lara) Roach, niece Samantha, sister Judy Roach, aunty Sheila Williams, cousin Krista Lobb, and Krista’s children, Sienna and Keenan.
Eric was predeceased by his dad, Eric Roach Sr., father-in-law Stanley Moe, and nephew Layton Patterson.
Cremation has taken place.
The family asks that you join them in a celebration of life that will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Sexsmith Civic Centre (9917 99 Ave, Sexsmith). Refreshments to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
