Obituary For Emma Tangen MacKinnon

With heartfelt sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; Emma Olive MacKinnon, on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in Grande Prairie, Alberta at the age of 81 years.

She was born on April 12, 1934 on the Tangen family homestead near Hythe, Alberta.

She is survived by her loving children: Brad (Cathy), Roberta (Gord) Allison, Ernie (Kim), Bonnie Johnson, and Celia (Rick) Hanvold; and dear sisters Ruth (Henry) Langerud and Margaret Solheim.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert MacKinnon in 1993, her parents Olaf and Olga Tangen, brothers John and Bjarne, sister Helen Langerud, brothers in-law: George Langerud and Henrick Solheim, sisters in-law: Verona and Mary, and son in-law Ken Johnson.

She cherished her thirteen grandchildren: Nathan, Neal, Alida (Lee), Miranda (Nick), Tara (Neil), Cameron (Dana), Emily (David), Owen, Ryan, Laura, Tyler, Sydney, and Brendon; and her six great-grandchildren: Colton, Abigail, Barrett, Ever, Julia, and Madilyn.

A Memorial Service for Emma will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 1:00pm at Oliver's Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave).

Memorial Donations may be made to the Golden Age Center (10222 101 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 0Y5).
