We offer families the opportunity to prepare and submit obituary notices written in their own words. We believe this allows each tribute to authentically reflect the life and legacy of the individual. To honour each tribute, obituaries are published as approved by the family.

Obituary For Elizabeth Reyes
On Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the age of 94 years, our sweet Elizabeth Reyes reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Noe Reyes, alongside her most sincere and dearest love, Jesus.
She is survived by her four children: Edward (Lily), Ellen (Ron), Evelyn (Edgar), and Emmanuel (Imelda); her cherished grandchildren: Robby (Chelsea), Jamie, Emmanuel (Gidget), John-Mark (Melissa), Joy (Tim), Hannah, Mercy (Ethan), and Emma; as well as her great-grandchildren: Rilynn, Roman, Darius, Bre, and Aly.
She was predeceased by her parents; siblings, namely: Mary, Catalino, Purisima, Lydia, Rebeca, Precilla, and Trepina; and her son-in-law, Ron Hoy.
Elizabeth was born on May 16, 1931, in Legaspi City, Philippines, to Felipe and Teddora Carretas. From the day she was Earthside, Felipe instilled the importance of faith, love, and hope. With that, her life was filled with moments of graciousness, the purest of joy, and the ability to build her character (Romans 5:3–4), alongside those she was in proximity with.
Many of us can agree that Elizabeth, in covenant with Noe, resembled all the traits of Proverbs 31, giving us the beauty and understanding of what it means to love like Jesus. To serve others with a willing and joyful heart, not because we are obligated to, but because they both knew the key to Eternal Life, and genuine prosperity happens within our souls first.
It is because of Elizabeth that we have the great joy of knowing a variety of birthday songs. We recognize her by her red suede hat and her large purse, filled to the brim with Our Daily Breads and Bibles. This was so she could plant seeds in places least expected. We cherish each other more because even when we all had less, she gave us her most.
Elizabeth was formerly named Beth, or more so, Mama. Mama had eyes that would gleam and glow when communicating the prayers God had answered, not only for her life, but for the lives of others. Through her missions in the Philippines, by the hand and will of God, Elizabeth set up Christian schools and childcare centers to further provide for her community.
When she came to Canada with her husband, they were eager to immediately begin Bible Studies within their home. We still recall the hymns and songs we would sing in a circle together before beginning, as well as the holding of hands and individual prayers, before Mama would close us all off with The Lord’s Prayer.
It is our greatest joy to celebrate the life Elizabeth lived with you all. We would wholeheartedly appreciate your stories, memories, and the moments you hold close with our Mama.
The Viewing will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 am at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005–107 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB), followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 pm. The Burial/Graveside Service will take place at 3:00 pm at the Grande Prairie Cemetery (11101–84 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB).
