Obituary For Elizabeth "Lisa" Franks

Elizabeth “Lisa” Franks, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of La Crete, AB, passed away at home on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the age of 61 years.

Elizabeth was born on October 26, 1964, in Fort Vermilion, AB, where she was raised as the youngest of thirteen children. As an adult, she earned her GED in Grande Prairie while she was almost done raising her two youngest children. This was a big personal achievement for her, demonstrating the determination and perseverance that would define her throughout her life.

An entrepreneurial spirit, Elizabeth was never afraid of hard work or new opportunities. She had the gift of gab, and there was always time for both quick and long chats. Above all, Elizabeth treasured her family. Her pride was her children, husband, faith, and close friends. She was a fighter who "wrestled with God."

Elizabeth enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including art, gardening, crocheting, baking, cooking, canning, interior design, and music. Whether creating something beautiful, tending her garden, or sharing a meal with family and friends, she found happiness in life's simple moments.

She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Paul Franks; her children, Kevin (Jena), Terry (Tessa), Tamara (Brad), Priscilla (Hogan), Bobby (Brianna), Carson (Aliesha), Deanna (Carson), and Josie (Clint); as well as her cherished grandchildren Zoe, River, Easton, Arianna, Asher, Emmett, Cedric, Finnick, Briar, Delaylas, Damian, Oaklan, Jaelynn, Kinley, Presley, Chainey, Brady, Aiden, Charlotte, Naziya, Jasmine, and Kaysie.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her father, Herman Banman; her mother, Maria Teichroeb; and her brothers, Jake, Herman, and Peter Banman.

A funeral service for Elizabeth will take place on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Oliver's Funeral Home (10005 107 Ave.) in Grande Prairie. An interment will follow at the Emerson Trail Cemetery (62048 AB-672) in Sexsmith, AB.
