Obituary For Edwin "Eddie" Lemke

In Loving Memory of Edwin “Eddie” Lemke

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Edwin Lemke of Grande Prairie, Alberta, who left us far too soon on Monday, July 13, 2026. He was born in Edmonton to Ewald and Violet Lemke. He was the oldest of three.

On July 30, 1983, Eddie married the love of his life, Susana Ivanchuk. Together they had a beautiful life of over 42 years of marriage, raising three wonderful children: sons Dan and Blaine and his daughter, Charlene, who blessed them with two wonderful twin boys, Darren and Landen. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and the love he had for them was evident in everything he did. Eddie cherished and made many, many memories through adventures in the great outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking, road trips, and many memories by enjoying time at home with family and dearest of friends, supporting and attending all his kids’ activities, creating countless treasured memories together.

Eddie had touched many, many lives through his high school years and career choices throughout his life. He worked hard and played hard. He will be dearly remembered by his close lifelong friends and cousins.

Eddie will be ever so missed and remembered by his loving and devoted wife, Susan; sons Dan and Blaine; daughter Charlene and grandsons Darren and Landen. Eddie will also be missed by his mother, Violet; sister Laura; and brother Randy and his family, wife Sandy and sons Jordan and Jason.

He will also be very much missed by his mother-in-law, Olga Ivanchuk; sisters-in-law Brenda Ivanchuk (Ron Robertson) and Jamie Porter (husband Bruce); nephew Kenny Porter; sister-in-law Sandra Ivanchuk (friend Gerald Giblin) and their son, Blake Giblin (wife Tracy); sister-in-law Angel Ivanchuk; and many other dear family members and closest friends.

Eddie was predeceased by his loving father, grandparents on both sides, many aunts and uncles, and beloved pets, Rollie, Jag, and Enzo.

This obituary was lovingly written by the family and shared in their own words.

Our deepest condolences to Sue, Dan, Blaine, Charlene, Violet, Laura, Randy and the extended Lemke family. We will forever remember Eddie as a kind, gentle, down to earth man with a big open heart and a wise soul. We are going to miss his big laugh, raucous sense of humour, and his deep level of commitment to family and friends alike. I can still remember Eddie, Kenny's Godfather, teaching him how to fish. Cherish the wonderful memories. Bruce, Jamie, and Kenny.
