Obituary For Donna Rae McKenna

It is with great sadness that the family of Donna McKenna, announce the sudden passing of their loving mother, devoted wife, beloved daughter, caring sister, and adoring grandmother, on Monday, August 8, 2022, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 61 years.

Donna was born in Brooks, AB, on March 14, 1961, and was the daughter of Henry and Rosemary Cyr.

Donna's greatest joy in life was her family, and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed raising dogs, gardening, music, reading, and watching hockey. She was loved by everyone who knew and met her.

At the hospital, her greatest wish was to have her family at her bedside, which did take place. Holding her hand and whispering words of love, they said goodbye to their devoted wife and beloved mother who brought them into the world.

Donna is survived by her loving husband Blaise; sons Ryan (Nicole) and Devon; daughter Lissa (Brad); her three grandchildren: Kolson, Piper, and Kacey; her father Henry (Carole); sister Marlys (Karl); and brother Jim (Theresa). She is also survived by Aunts Gloria Ion and Shirley Gratrix; as well as nieces and nephews: Karlee, Tanner, Kelsey, Nikki, and Tyson.

Donna is predeceased by her beloved mother Rosemary Cyr; and her grandmothers Alma Campbell and Helen Both.

The family would like to thank the staff of Unit 12 at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital for their compassionate care of Donna during her stay there.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association (12220 104 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 8A8).

A private family service will be held at a later date.
