Obituary For Donna Lynn Donison
Donna was the cherished first-born child of Archie and Irene Donison, followed by the birth of her brother Orion, 9 years later. She was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her. Her family, who meant the world to her, includes her mother Irene, from Ponoka; brother Orion (Chris) Donison; nephew Matthew (Andrea) Rowland from Ottawa; and niece Bailey Donison; Judy Donison and family in Grande Prairie, Alberta; Ken (Carol) Donison and family from Kelowna, B.C.; Bryce (Pam) Donison and family from Edmonton, Alberta; the Willis’, Dennis (Phyllis) and family from Seattle, Washington, USA; Delbert (Jackie) and family from Thousand Oaks, California, USA; Don Sandwell and family from Kelowna, B.C.; Marie Turner from Vancouver, B.C.; Diane (Derack) Schaffer from Vancouver, B.C.; Garett (Karin) Hardie and family from Airdrie, Alberta; and all her lifelong friends she kept in touch with; from working many years at: Kelowna General Hospital, Poland, Germany, Cuba, Mexico, Saskatchewan, Yukon, Grande Prairie, and Ponoka.
Donna was predeceased by her father Archie; grandparents; and many beloved family members, including aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was a person of many passions and interests, but above all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends: traveling, camping, shopping, driving her convertible, attending music, and sporting events, living life to the fullest, and spreading happiness wherever she went. Donna was her family’s number one fan, and she attended all their music and sporting events.
Donna’s love for the ocean was profound. The coastline became the backdrop to many treasured moments and stories, and the beach was her sanctuary. Her warmth and openhearted nature meant she never knew a stranger. Her generosity and kindness will be remembered by many.
In her memory, we hold close to moments of the joy she shared, the lessons of compassion that were taught, and the unwavering love she gave us. Donna was loved by many and will be deeply missed; but the light of her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she touched.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to first responders and staff at Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025 at the Ponoka Funeral Home. The service will be livestream broadcast at www.womboldfuneralhomes.com.

I remember Donna Lynn so well from the time we spent growing up on Hillcrest Drive. Her dad Archie and my father got together through playing violin and repairing them as well. I send my condolences from the Waldner family, you are home with your dad now. Rest In Peace Donna Lynn.
