Obituary For Donna Joy Denis

In Loving Memory of Donna Joy Denis

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, Donna Denis, a longtime resident of Spirit River, AB, passed away at the age of 76 years, covered in prayer and surrounded by love.

Donna was a very caring and compassionate person. She was always ready to lend an attentive ear, as well as offer encouragement and support. Her presence and strength brought comfort to many.

Donna fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith. The void she leaves behind is both deep and profound.

Donna was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Vi Machel, and her beloved husband, Jim. She leaves to mourn her precious children: Stacey and Robert (Candace); grandchildren: Maddie, Ryley, and Jack; sisters: Ann, Diane, and Myra; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

A private viewing and service will be held for immediate family.

Memorial donations may be made to Grace Gospel Chapel (Box 507, Spirit River, AB, T0H 3G0).

Donna dedicated her life to the nursing career and she was a credit to her profession. She was my grandmother's Home Care nurse and we couldn't have been more satisfied and we couldn't have had a more caring nurse and we're so sad to hear of her loss

I am so sorry to hear of Donna's passing. When I worked for homecare, she was a nurse I looked up to and her kind, gentle disposition was something I admired and strived to be like in my nursing career. She will be missed.

Huge hugs to Stacey, Robbie and family. I had the pleasure of sharing an office when we worked Homecare together. She was the person who quietly got things done and was behind small acts of kindness. One example , is her always bringing fresh flowers for the front of the church any Sunday she was there. She touched so many lives and will truly be missed
