Obituary For Dolores Jane Hebert

Dolores Jane Hebert (née Dasta), resident of Grande Prairie, AB, for 24 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 96 years young.

Dolores was born on November 2, 1929, in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. She was raised in Charleroi, then moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she graduated from Arnold High School. She went on to graduate from a business college and was employed in various secretarial job positions. Dolores worked for KLM Dutch Airlines, Alcoa Corporation (an aluminum company), a hospital in Saskatoon, SK, and Macdonald-Cartier High School in St. Bruno, QC.

It was during her time of employment with the airline that she met and married the love of her life, André Hebert of Montréal, QC. Together, they raised a family of four children: Carole, Marc, Paul, and Danny. André’s military career brought them to live in several postings across Canada, as well as in Europe.

Dolores was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family. She enjoyed the adventure of these postings—a far stretch from the warmer climate she was raised in. She also loved the vacations to surrounding places of interest.

By nature, she was quiet, gentle, gracious, kind, and patient. Although Dolores exhibited such wonderful qualities, she knew how to stand her ground when necessary. It is with a smile and loving remembrance that this particular quality is humorously thought of as her Italian streak coming out.

Dolores cared about people. Anyone who suffered was kept in her thoughts and prayers. Welcoming doors were always opened to her children’s friends and to many others. Her love and acceptance made no distinction.

Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband, André Hebert; her parents, John Batiste Dasta and Clara Hornbake Dasta; and her sisters, Mildred (Dasta) Perry and Anna-Mary (Dasta) Robin.

She will be sadly missed and forever lovingly remembered by her children: Carole (husband Shawn), Marc, Paul (wife Rania), and Danny; her grandchildren: Michael, Amber Rose (Chris), Brandon (Katie), Sophie, Rebecca, Christopher, Olivia, Nikolas, and Isabella; and her great-grandchildren: Ty, Audrey Mae, Luke, Matthew, and Mila-Rose. She will also be missed by her family in the United States: sister Roberta; brother-in-law Joe; her nieces and nephews: Adrienne, Chris, Dianne, Jeff, Doug, Tom, Jennifer, and Vincent; as well as all her great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dolores’ family of Grande Prairie would like to acknowledge another group of people that dearly loved her. It is with heartfelt thanks to the residents and board members of Brodie Manor that we express our gratitude for your love and honour of our mother over the years. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We would also like to thank Meals on Wheels for their wonderful service and for their acknowledgement of Dolores’ 96th birthday—so special. In lieu of flowers, please forward any memorial donations to Meals on Wheels, a highly valued service to our community of Grande Prairie and area (https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/the-grande-prairie-and-area-council-on-aging/).

Dolores’ memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Believers Full Gospel Assembly in Grande Prairie (10711-100 St), with a luncheon to follow. Private interment will be held at a later date.

The service will be livestreamed on the Believers Church Facebook page.

Mother, sweet, sweet Mother, you are forever etched in our hearts with love. Peacefully you have left us, peacefully you now reside in your heavenly home. I love you, Mom ~ Carole.
