Obituary For David Edward Dyok
David Dyok, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Quill Lake, SK, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the age of 57 years.
David was born on August 3, 1968, in Quill Lake, where he lived until joining the military in the fall of 1988. He met and married his wife, Debbie. After numerous moves and bringing three daughters into the world, the family finally settled in Grande Prairie. This is where they built their life together.
David was compassionate, humorous, generous, and above all, prioritized his family. He was an aquarist, a connoisseur of dad jokes, and loved to golf.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 32 years, Debbie Dyok; children Brittany Dyok (Nik Hubli), Samantha (Cody) Perkins, and Madison Dyok (Lukas Konashuk); grandchildren Millie and Hudson Perkins; his mother, Cecile Dyok; sisters Francine (Robert) Allen, Jo-Anne Dyok (Darwin Van Den Bossche), and Nicole (Bill) Glennon; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was predeceased by his father, Frank Dyok.
Memorial donations may be made on David’s behalf to a charity of your choice.

Dave was one of the funniest people I've had the pleasure of working with. There are many stories of Dave's wonderful sense of humour. My favourite would have been the time we were at the Sportsman in Kelvington, where we were having a company party. Dave pulled down one of the trophy fish from the wall, hands it to the company CEO, and exclaimed "YOU are the big fish in the Big Sky pond!!!" RIP Dave. Heartfelt condolences to Deb and the girls

I didn't know Dave - I live vicariously through the many stories Debbie told of Dave - mostly while we were all serving in the Canadian military until they decided to retire. My heartfelt condolences go out to Debbie and her family.

David we are all so saddened to hear about your passing. You are among the way too young group. Many memories of you growing up north of Quill Lake. You love for heavy metal 🎸 and your big smiles are still in my memory. Rest easy David. I'm sure you're having a good visit with your dad and uncles. Donna Schoettler (Nieth)

Dave helped me through one of the hardest times in my life, just by checking on me every time we saw each other. I'll definitely miss seeing his smiling face at the mill, his dad jokes and the conversations. RIP, Dave.
