Constance “Connie” Marie Thetrault, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Prairie Lake Hospice, at the age of 80 years.

Connie was born in Rocky Mountain House, AB, on March 7, 1941, to Irene and Leon Waldo. Connie moved to Grovedale, AB, at a young age where she owned/worked in the Grovedale General Store for many years. Later she moved to Grande Prairie where she worked at AGT, Gulf Wayfair, and later Value Village.

She loved to beat anyone at cribbage, cooking and baking, and always made sure everyone had an abundance of crocheted dishrags. Connie loved travelling and camping in their RV, and spending time on Queen Charlotte Island. She used to love fishing until getting caught in a storm. They barely made it back to shore and she never got in the boat again.

She will be sadly missed by her partner of 40 years Gary Higgins; children: Anna (Allan) Hamilton, Linda Thetrault, Teresa (Craig) Chase, and Gerry Higgins; grandchildren: Glen (Barb), Amanda (Adam), Keith (Nichole), Megan, Tim (Shea), Nicole (Jon), Krystal (Mitch), and Mason; seventeen great-grandchildren; brother Dennis Waldo; and sister Georgina Krest.

Connie was predeceased by her parents Irene Krest and Leon Waldo, brothers Neville (Dorothy) and Robert, son Greg (Gwen), and granddaughter Paige.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
