I am sad to hear of Gerald's passing. As he was from the north side and I was from the south side of Grande Prairie, we first met in grade 7 at Montrose Junior High. I graduated with him from the Composite in 1972. We were the first class to attend the "new" composite for grades 10, 11 and 12. I also attended the McLaren Baptist Church Young People's group at the Blunt's house. We had lots of fun with hay rides, toboggan parties and pizza parties. I am sorry to hear of your loss of your father, brother and uncle. 64 is too young to end a life. Susan (Wright) Smith

Iâ??ve known Gerald for many years going back to when he played hockey. After being out of touch for many years I ran into Gerald about 4 years ago. Much had changed about him, however his same sense of humour was always there. He patiently took me out on the range in GP and showed me what a real shooter can do. We had lots of chuckles and laughs and every time I went to the range my goal was to chat and learn something from Gerald. He was extremely patient, a great story teller, and always to me and my father, a very kind man. I always felt my day was better having spent time with him. I will miss him. To his family I extend my heartfelt sorrow but know that he is in a better place. Randy Peterson

Dear children of Shirley and Allan I am so sorry to hear about Gerald. I am sure it was a shock to you all and it will be hard to handle all the things that come up over the next days. All I can say is that we can be so glad that he has gone on to a better place and a place where he can be with his mom and dad. God bless you all and may he keep you in his hands. My condolences to the Chugg family. Gerald was a great guy full of smiles. Played hockey with him a long time ago and knew him through school and social settings.
