We offer families the opportunity to prepare and submit obituary notices written in their own words. We believe this allows each tribute to authentically reflect the life and legacy of the individual. To honour each tribute, obituaries are published as approved by the family.

Obituary For Cicely Jean Wieliczko (nèe Hoflin)

It is with love and gratitude for a life well lived that the family of Cicely Wieliczko (nèe Hoflin) announces her passing on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 90 years.

Born in 1936 and raised in the Scandinavian communities of Ashdown and Valhalla Centre, AB, Cicely later attended comptometer school and worked in Grande Prairie and Edmonton, AB.

In Edmonton, AB, she met John Wieliczko, whom she married in 1960. Together, they raised their family in Swan Hills, Edmonton, Calgary, and later on Emerson Trail.

The call of country life remained strong throughout the years. In 1975, Cicely and John moved to Cicely's old stomping grounds and began the rewarding challenge of creating a viable farm, involving extensive rock and root picking. Through perseverance, they built a lovely home and lifestyle.

In later years, Cicely embarked on a remarkable journey into alternative health practices and energy work. She found great fulfillment in reflexology. She became widely respected for her wisdom, teachings, and unique ability to access energy realms that many have only heard about. A pioneer in her field, she touched many lives through her guidance, compassion, and willingness to share her knowledge.

Later settling in Watrous, SK, she cultivated a rich and joyful life. She cherished her community, enjoyed dancing, relaxed in the thermal pools, and spent time with friends.

In her final decade, life slowed only slightly. Cicely continued to enjoy various health-oriented classes, walks, crocheting, and the study of BioGeometry. Her passion for personal growth never diminished. She leaves behind a legacy of wisdom, resilience, kindness, and a deep appreciation for the mysteries of life.

Cicely will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses: Joey, Dawn (John), Jay (Francine), and Tammy.

Grandchildren: Jordan (Spencer), Landin (Matti), Mariah, Anders (Stine), Leif, Christiana, Derek (Sam), and Devon (Josef).

Great-Grandchildren: Per, Olga, Monet, and Rex.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Albright Hall (104024 Township Rd 724A) in Beaverlodge, AB.
