Obituary For Christopher Misner
It’s with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Chris Misner on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the young age of 56. He passed away at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.
Chris loved fishing, camping, and hanging out with friends and family, as well as spending time at the racetrack—the places where he felt most alive and connected. Whether he was casting a line, sitting around a campfire, laughing with friends, or watching engines roar, he lived life with genuine passion. He had a love for simple, meaningful moments.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Darlene. He will be remembered by his three daughters, Catherine (Shane), Tara (Robbie), and Tiffany (Kyle); ten grandchildren; mother Elaine and mother-in-law Eleanor; brother Trevor; sisters Angie, Kim (Freeman), Tracey (Hughie), Robin (Jason), Teresa (Troy), and Brittany; cousin Harry; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Percey; his grandparents; and his cousin, Georgie.
A celebration of Chris’ life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Sexsmith Civic Centre (99 Ave, Sexsmith, AB T0H 3C0).
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses in unit 12 at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital. Special thanks also to Heidi and the nurses from the home care team; and the doctors and nurses at Palliative Care.
Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca/).
