Obituary For Cheryl Lea Driedger (nee Nickolson)

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our incredible mother, grandmother and friend, Cheryl Lea Driedger.

Cheryl Lea Driedger (nee Nickolson) passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025 at Prairie Lake Hospice at the age of 77. Our family is comforted to know she is resting in peace with the Lord.

Cheryl was born in Calgary, Alberta on February 10, 1948. She grew up in Airdrie AB and spent her early twenties in Calgary. In 1974, on a trip to Honolulu, she met the love of her life Bob Driedger, and they were married six months later. They had two children, Dayton and Shelley. Cheryl and Bob resided on the farm near LaGlace until they moved into Grande Prairie in 2010.

Cheryl will be remembered for her incredible strength, grace, kindness, and great love of her family and friends. She brought so much joy to all those who knew her. Her life was a journey marked by extraordinary resilience, love, devotion, and unwavering faith.

Cheryl is lovingly remembered by her son Dayton (Jackie); daughter Shelley (Ross); her three beautiful granddaughters: Bobbi-Lea, Kennedy, and Kalia; her fur-baby Destiny; along with so many other precious friends and family.

She was predeceased by her husband Bob, father John, and sisters Donnita and Marcie.

A Celebration of Life so beautifully lived will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 11:00 am at LaGlace Bible Fellowship Church (9901 99 St. La Glace, AB) with luncheon to follow.

Special thanks to the staff at Prairie Lake Hospice, and Dr. Green at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital for their incredible care in Cheryl's last few weeks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to La Glace Bible Fellowship Church, Bear Lake Bible Camp, or a charity of your choice.
