Chad Albert, resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the age of 41.

Chad was born in Stettler, Alberta, on June 27, 1985, to parents Louie and Deb (Thomas) Albert. In 1993, the family moved to the Bay Tree area, where Chad spent his childhood and early adult life. As a child he was exactly like he grew up to be. He was never rambunctious, always slow and steady with a kind heart, even at that age. If he saw another child on the playground that didn't have a lot, he would befriend them, making them feel welcome and comfortable. He was always willing to share what he had with other kids. Those were traits that would follow Chad throughout his life.

In 2012, he settled in Grande Prairie. In 2013, he met the love of his life, Christina Frey, and from that day forward they were seldom seen apart. They spent a fun-filled life together doing the many things they loved. Chad loved hunting with his dad, and after Christina got her firearms acquisition, they spent a lot of time either hunting in the fall with Dad in the Bay Tree area or at the gun range in Grande Prairie. He loved anything to do with Star Wars and was actively involved in GrandeCon, a passion for him and Christina. Chad was a good speaker, and one year, he was the MC for a concert. He always aspired to be a radio announcer, but unfortunately, that was a dream that never came to pass. He took numerous courses in cyber security, and the last seven or eight years were spent doing security work for All Peace Protection.

Left to mourn Chad’s passing is his life partner, Christina; his parents, Louie and Deb; his brothers, Mark, Lance, and Ethan; his in-laws, Connie and Leo Frey; his nieces and nephews; his work family at All Peace Protection; and his many friends. He will be sadly missed.

A service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Rycroft Community Hall in Rycroft, Alberta (5208-47 Ave). We can take solace in the thought that Chad is up in heaven looking down on us.
