Obituary For Cecile Henriette Thibeault

Cecile Henriette Thibeault resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the age of 91years.

Mom was born on May 1, 1934, in Robertsonville, Quebec. She was the eldest of seven children, born to Henri and Eva Rouleau. According to mom she was not stubborn, she was tenacious. Early in life she had to be with the eldest with responsibilities way beyond her years.

The girls in Mom’s family inherited their dad’s genes for carpentry. Mom could build anything, and it was straight as an arrow. She loved her garden and her flowers, especially her roses.

Mom did not work out of the home; however, she spent endless hours knitting, crocheting and sewing. For many years she did alterations for the Co-op Men’s Wear Department. Mom was an avid painter. Many of her paintings hang in our homes and will be great mementos for all of us.

Mom’s health started declining in May of 2023 and in December 2023 she started residing at the Hythe Extended Care Facility which she called home.

On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, God gave her a graduation certificate to heaven. Enjoy Heaven Mom, say Hi to Dad.

Cecile will be sadly missed by her children: Pauline (Mario), Diane, Roger (Caroline), Annette (Roy) and 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Mom is predeceased by her husband John and brothers Robert and Lucien and sister Lucienne.

A very heartfelt thank you to the Hythe Extended Care Facility for the exceptional and compassionate care that was provided to our mom and family!

A Traditional Funeral Service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (10404 102 St) Grande Prairie on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 1:30 pm. Interment to follow at Grande Prairie Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at Tranquille Hall.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association if so desired. – alzheimer.ca
