Obituary For Bryan Lawrence Hosker
Bryan Lawrence Hosker, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the night of July 19, 2025, at his home in Grande Prairie, Alberta, at the age of 50 years.
Bryan was born on October 25, 1974, in Edmonton, Alberta. He grew up on a farm in the Wembley area where he attended school in both Wembley and Grande Prairie before graduating from Beaverlodge Regional High School. Bryan was adventurous, outgoing, and fun-loving from boyhood; he loved meeting people, making friends, and making others smile. He was generous, helping neighbors with yard work and gardening, and was known to be independent as well, with a stubborn streak that knew no match once he had his mind set.
Over the years, Bryan worked many jobs, making even more friends along the way: from delivering flyers and mowing lawns, to working at Home Hardware, Value Village, Recycle Plus, Swan Industries, The Salvation Army, and even the Town of Wembley itself. He volunteered with Coats for Kids and participated in the Special Olympics.
Bryan was a hard worker who enjoyed helping others and loved to be the life of the party wherever he went. His hobbies included coloring and woodworking (making planters for his friends and family), as well as quadding, sledding, and tobogganing when he was out at the farm. An avid fan of WWE wrestling, the Edmonton Oilers, country music, and Back to the Future, he was a passionate fan who shared his love for the things and people he loved loud and proud. He was not afraid to be who he was and speak his mind.
Bryan will be celebrated and missed by parents Lawrence and Ann Hosker; sister Sandi (Dennis Evens) Hosker; nieces Haley and Dakota Evens; great-aunt Fay Gerow; aunts Marlowe (Armand Pelletier) Gerow, Frances Hosker, Lynne (Gary Berghout) Hosker, Rhonda (Chris Bro) Hosker, and Ruth Hosker; uncles Garry (Lois) Robideau and Gerald (Darcy) Funk; many cousins both near and far; and countless friends, including friends-as-family Ted and Lisa Watt and their children Makayla, Carter, and Liam, also known affectionately as The Watt Five.
He was predeceased by grandparents Ralph Hosker, Molly Hosker, Lloyd Gerow, and Nellie Gerow; uncles Don Hosker and George Gerow; and great-uncle Lyle Gerow.
His celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 2pm – 5pm at Dimsdale Hall (712010 Range Rd 72A, Wembley). Donations can be made to the Canadian Down Syndrome Society in his honour.

Sending my hugs and deepest condolences to Mr. And Mrs. Hosker and all of Bryan's family and family like. I have many wonderful memories of Bryan; having worked with him closely for many years while he was a part of our Signature Support Services family. He and his good buddy Shaun (RIP) had a WWE "business" that they worked on anytime they had time together. Not only did they create matches between WWE hero's but they also created matches between their friends or staff at Signature. They had their own system that decided the odds in favour of who would win the match. They had every single aspect of the business taken care of. VERY CREATIVE I do say and if they could have, I am certain that they would have their own gaming APP. Together Bryan and Shaun moved mountains. Another super funny memory was at a one of our many parties; Bryan and his best bud put on a performance calling themselves Shania's Twins. After being introduced, they entered the floor together, dressed as Shania Twain in their best female impersonating costumes, with added "alternatives"and singing "Man, I Feel like a Woman". Such a creative and fun performance was enjoyed by all! Bryan was such a charming man with a soft, caring, giving and loving spirit. He had the biggest heart. I will miss him dearly. Rest in Peace Bryan . You were a good buddy.

My sincere condolences Ann, Lawrence and Sandi. My heart goes out to you on the loss of your fun-loving son and brother. One of my favourite memories of Bryan was of him singing "Fishing in the Dark" and being so excited to do his work experience at The Town of Beaverlodge. Memories of him will be forever in my heart. Thinking of Bryan & the Hosker family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Bryan was such a bright light in our community in Wembley & Beaverlodge. He always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. I remember him well, we had to catch the bus in Beaverlodge to get us home to Wembley & I remember him & his high school sweetie smootching as we waited for our bus to get there. I often thought - 'if we could all be as happy as him, we'd have it made' Sending lots of love Shauna Murphy

My condolences to Bryan's family- I went to school with Bryan in Wembley and Beaverlodge. And even after we graduated high school, if Bryan saw me, he would always smile his big smile and tell me " nice to see you again my friend." I was glad to see that he remained happy all the time. RIP Bryan Hosker.
