Obituary For Brian Robert Sande
Brian Sande, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, surrounded by his family, at the age of 61 years.
Brian was born on July 4, 1964, in Rocky Mountain House, AB. Throughout his life, he grew into an amazing husband and loving father. Brian consistently put his family first. He loved to be with his children. He was always there for their graduations and weddings, without fail, supporting them in whatever they wanted to do. Together, we would take the kids camping to Pipestone with David Primrose and his family. Many memories were created from attending family reunions, meeting new family members, enjoying each other’s company, and teaching the kids how to build playhouses. Brian also found great pride in teaching his grandkids how to drive a 1932 tractor at South Peace Centennial Museum, where he liked to volunteer on Pioneer Days.
As a career, he drove an eighteen-wheeler, hauling logs and moving equipment. Brian eventually worked his way up to bush foreman. He was tough but fair on the men that he looked after. He expected them to do the job the right way and not in a half-assed way. Those men had nothing but respect for him, to the point where they considered him family and called him Uncle Brian.
He loved to go out to Karen and Tarril’s farm to help with the cattle, as well as enjoy time with his nieces, Dallas, Cori, and Jenna, and his nephew, Olin. Brian found joy in visiting with Janet, Stan, his nieces, Amanda and Kristina, and nephew Colin. He was very close to Colin, as they had grown up together and worked side by side.
Brian will be forever loved and sadly missed by his wife, Shelly; his daughter, Courtney Shaunett; his eight grandkids, Zack, Daylin, Bella, Tristen, Jemma, Reya, TJ, and Clara; his mom, Elizabeth; his brother, David; his sisters, Janet (Stan) and Karen (Tarril); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Robert; his dad, Norman; and his nieces, Kristina and Dallas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association (ablung.ca/).

Our condolences to Shelly, Courtney and family. Papa Brian will forever be missed by the twins. He was an amazing grandfather and friend. I will miss joking with him about having to share the potato salad at family gatherings. I'm so glad we got to be apart of his family for all these years. The Lynk Family
