Obituary For Brenda Dorothy D'Onofrio

Brenda Dorothy D'Onofrio, nee Lawrance, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 11:47 pm, at the age of 83 years.

Brenda was born October 22, 1940, at 1 Rose Cottage, Chadwell Health, Romford, Essex, England, in a bomb shelter as the โ€œall clearโ€ was sounded.

She immigrated to Canada at the age of 17 where she met and married her soulmate, William โ€œBillโ€ Dโ€™Onofrio in September of 1963. This union resulted in five children: Christina, Nicholas (Jeannine), Andrew (Shawna), Michael (Nicola), and Mark (Kim). She was the proud grandma of eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Brenda was known to many for her wonderful baking and knitting. She believed you always pay it forward.

She leaves behind her children, grandkids, great-grandkids, two sisters, two nieces, and one nephew.

Brenda was predeceased by her grandson Christopher, son Michael, husband of 58 years Bill, and younger brother Brian.

Her quick smile will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca/).

I remember when Brenda's Dad would drop her off at our house on his way to work. She'd have breakfast with Mom and I. She worked at the bank and the bank didn't open until 9 am so she'd spend her mornings with us. I always liked Brenda, she was a kind person, always cheerful, always willing to give a helping hand. She is now at rest with her loved ones who have gone before. One day you will all be reunited again, but until then, remember her beautiful smile and the kindness and love she shared with everyone who knew her. My sincere sympathies to her family and friends. She will never be forgotten. R. I. P. lovely lady. Margaret (Racette) Robertson

Our true condolences to Brenda's famil! I worked with Brenda at the Bank of Montreal many years ago she was always a pleasure to work with and always had a beautiful smile. I also remember getting goat milk from her for a friend of mines baby that couldn't drink regular milk. She wouldn't charge anything so we had to just donate to her! A wonderful lady with a big heart!
