Obituary For Bonny Anne Cochrane

Bonny Anne Cochrane, resident of the County of Grande Prairie, AB, near Beaverlodge, AB, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the age of 65 years.

Bonny was born May 25, 1957, to Evelyn (nee Ford) and Jim Cochrane. Her arrival completed her mom’s vision of family, 2 boys and 2 girls. Bonny became the 4th “B” to her older siblings: Bobby, Billy, Betty.

Bonny had a unique outgoing personality and was always willing to help others, even if they were complete strangers. She was never afraid to speak her mind, put her all into her work, or sing at the top of her lungs. Bonny’s special joy was being with her family and especially with her daughter and three granddaughters, “her girls” whom she loved fiercely. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and had a strong love for her farm, river-bottom property, greenhouse, and of course all of her animals. She was up for any outdoor activity and for traveling around the world. Through her work as a Hairstylist, owner/operator of “Hair in Motion” in Beaverlodge in the 70’s and 80’s, Bonny developed special relationships with many community members. She was delighted to renew a number of these relationships and form many new friendships in her role as hair care provider at the Hythe Pioneer Home over the last number of years. Bonny will forever be lovingly remembered by her daughter Fharon Clovis (Blake Shmyr); granddaughters: Pyper, Eberly and Karver Shmyr; as well as immediate family, cousins, and many friends.

Bonny was predeceased by her father Jim Cochrane; her mother Evelyn (nee Ford) Cochrane; as well as her step-father Ted Gammon. Please join us for a luncheon and to share memories of Bonny on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 1:00pm, at the Hythe Legion (9818 100 Ave.).

Such tragic news. My deepest condolences to her family. I was fortunate to grow up as neighbours, the many years later reconnect and spend time together. You will be missed.

My deepest sympathy for your great loss. I worked for Bonnie in the early 80's. We had lots of fun - as my name is Bonnie and her friend Bonnie would come in and visit her and it was lots of laughs and silliness -no one knew who was talking to who. I will remember her with a smile. May The Lord Keep You in Peace during your time of reflection and mourning.

Dear Betty- I am very sad to hear of Bonnie's passing, far too short a life. I know you, her family, will miss her, dearly, and so will the many friends she has made throughout the years. Bonny will not be forgotten. I wish you peace, love, hope, on your healing journey.

01/06/2023 - Karol (Palmu) Guenette Bonny and I were acquainted with each other through our brothers friendship. We did not hangout with each other but we did do a school project together once in High School. To complete this assignment we developed a list of questions to ask the different manufacturers and also we had to take measurements and check out some building aspects on some of the homes. These Manufactured Home companies were North of Grande Prairie and we didn't have anyway to get out there. Plus we didn't know when we could get together to do this other than during the school day while she was in town. Bonny suggested we hitchhike out there. I was so nervous and frightened but Bonny seemed so sure of herself that I said ok. So we skipped school, hitched a ride, went to a few places out there and hitched a ride back. I can't even remember the finished assignment or the mark we got on it but I will always remember the adventure I had with Bonny. To me a fearless, free spirit. My condolences to you all. I wish her infinite Peace. - Karol (Palmu) Guenette

Rest In Peace my cousin. You were too young to be leaving us.......I will always remember your cheerful demeanour and your great big heart. You could make everyone laugh and had such a willingness to help anyone who seemed to be in need....such wonderful qualities! Thank you for the special kindness you showed towards my sister Diane. We will miss you! Our condolences to your family, Bobby, Billy, Betty and Fharon and family. God has received a special spirit back into his fold. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

So sorry to hear of Bonny passing away. We had many fun times together when we lived together in the late 70's on a farm outside Beaverlodge. We shared our first trip to Vancouver in her red Mustang singing Queen on the top of our lungs. Also, Bonny sang at our wedding ... in bare feet. We even welcomed our first daughters into the world at similar times. Life took us in different directions so we didn't see much of each other for the past 20 years. So sad to learn that we won't be able to spend time together again. Deepest condolences go to her daughter & her family. I will miss her passionate & adventurous spirit. Rest in peace Bonnie. With love, Debbie Nelson

Our dear Bonnie, she was a diamond in the sky always! Her creative personality always shined through. She was the youngest stylist to join our team at Camille's Hairstyling, and her willingness to learn was rewarding and gave her the compassion to open her own salon in Beaverlodge! Her singing voice was beautiful, like her soul. She had so much talent to share with others. God bless and keep you close Bonnie. I will hold your memory in my heart always. Joanne Waldner Ingalls.

Condolences to Bonny's family and friends. We chummed together in our teens and early 20's, always having lots of laughs. We lost contact over the years and I'm happy she had continued to have a good life. She was always loving and kind to everyone including animals, we rode horses together many times. Again, I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. RIP Bonny Deb McLaughlin❤️
