Bernice Hubick, aged 87, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, in hospice care, surrounded by her loving family. Bernice, known to her family and close friends as ‘Nene’ or ‘Gran’, will be remembered for her deep faith, love for her family, and as a second mom to many.

Nene was born in the early summer on June 28, 1938, to William and Kathleen Doucette in Drumheller, AB. She loved growing up in Drumheller and being the youngest out of eight siblings. Here she met Irv Hubick, and they later married in 1959. They then moved to Calgary, where Nene proudly worked at AGT. Relocating to Swift Current, SK, they grew their family by three daughters. Moving back to Alberta, they lived shortly in Edmonton before the final stop in Grande Prairie in 1974. She continued to work and raise her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nene remained rooted in her love for Drumheller, often visiting her family and sharing stories of the landscapes she called home.

Nene will be greatly missed by her daughters, Jody Primeau (Darrell), Jackie Hubick, and Bernadette (Reg) Coderre. Her grandchildren: Jamie (Cory), Sarah (Lannie), Katie (Kelby), Kristina (Travis), and their father, Steve Primeau; Megan (Alex), Hannah (Curtis), Trevor, Landen (Christina), and Kent. Her great-grandchildren: Kyrie, Callum, Brennan, C.J., Charlotte, Logan, Kara, Kayleigh, and Charlotte C. She will also be deeply missed and remembered by many close family friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Irv Hubick; her son-in-law, Morgan; her grandson-in-law, Ivor; and her parents and siblings.

A private family service will be held, followed by a luncheon at Trinity Lutheran Church.
