Obituary For Ben Jake Hofer
Ben Hofer passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2025, with his family by his side after a long battle with cancer. His last days, though challenging with the many symptoms that came with his diagnosis, hold many memories that we will treasure forever. We cherish each moment and are very grateful we got to say goodbye. Ben will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Throughout his life he was known for many things, but above all, his greatest accomplishment was the wealth of knowledge and wisdom he imparted to all of us. He always reminded us not to forget about eternity, and that everyone has to answer to the Lord one day. He encouraged us to do our best to take care of the colony’s things, big or small. By the grace of God, let us honour his legacy together, living for the Lord and humbly serving our neighbours. To God be the glory for the many blessings that have been bestowed upon us by this incredible gift—‘the life of Grandpa.’
We would like to say a special thank you to all who were involved in Ben’s care and for all the prayers that were sent heavenward on his behalf.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Grandview Hutterite Colony (723042 RRd 74, County of Grande Prairie No. 1, AB, T8X 4L1).
