Obituary For Barbara Ann French

Barbara “Barb” Ann French, resident of Fairview, AB, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021, at the Fairview Hospital, at the age of 72 years.

Barbara was born on March 20, 1949, in Fairview. When Barb was 3, her family moved to Fort St. John, BC, but returned to Fairview where she was raised with her fourteen siblings. She finished high school and went on to college to become a Nurse. She worked at the local Hospitals till meeting her husband, Harvey. They were married on April 30, 1971, and settled down to start their family of three boys. At the age of 40, she decided to go back to school and get her Masters in Bachelor of Science. Although it was tough with three kids, she became a registered nurse. Barb raised her family on a farm outside of Brownvale, AB, and worked at the Grimshaw Hospital where she retired.

Barb was kind, loving, and famous for her hugs. She enjoyed camping with her boys, travelling to new places, cards, curling up with a good book, spending time with her grandchildren, and campfires with her family and friends.

Barb will be sadly missed by her children: son Sherman, and his children Tyree, Wyatt, Amanda, Taylor, and Janelle; son Lyle (Julie), and their children Daris and Isabelle; son Richard (Suprina), and their children Navada, Drayton, and Korban; brothers: Larry, Wayne, Ken, Ralph, Harry, Blaine, and Garry; sisters: Bernice, Cathy, Juanita, Shelly, and Marianne; as well as many close friends.

Barb was predeceased by her husband Harvey French; parents Albert and Stella Noullett, as well as brothers Conrad Noullett and Richard Noullett.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Whitelaw Cemetery.

Memorial Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
