Balbir "Bill" Garcha of Grande Prairie, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in his home at the age of 60 years.

Balbir was born on March 1, 1966, in Katana, India. He moved to Grande Prairie in 1986 with his older brother, Makhan (Mike) Garcha, and mother, Karam Kaur Garcha. Never shying away from hard work, Balbir worked various jobs in tree planting, cleaning, and home building. For the past 25 years, he enjoyed serving his community as a taxi driver.

Balbir will be greatly missed by his wife, Sukhdevinder (Sukhi); his children, Jivtesh, Kurneesh, and Kelly; his grandchildren, Hannah and Maia; his brothers and sisters-in-law; his sister and brother-in-law; nieces and nephews; and many friends.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Oliver's Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Avenue). Following the service, Antam Ardas will be performed at Gurdwara Sahib Grande Prairie (9402 92C Street), with Langar being served.

For those who cannot attend in person, the funeral service will be livestreamed. The livestream link will be available shortly before the service begins.
