Obituary For Ali Ahmed McLean
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ali Ahmed McLean, of Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, on September 8, 2026, at the age of 28.
Born on September 4, 1998, in Edmonton, Alberta, Ali lived a life filled with hard work as a carpenter and a deep love for hunting and the outdoors.
He is survived by his parents, Dawn McLean and Ahmed Alghalebi; grandparents, Ruby McLean and Clyde Goodswimmer; brother, Wendell; sisters, Mayada (Stephano), Briann and Zayda; nephews, Justice, Amir and Ameen; and niece, Isabella.
Ali was predeceased by his great-grandparents, Eliza and Dan McLean, and Violet and Edward Goodswimmer.
A wake service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation Community Hall.
